Just found out I drew a quota permit for the first hunt at Okaloacoochee Slough in south FL. Not asking for anyones spots just curious if it's as wet as the maps make it out to be? If so would a kayak be a useful tool? I should be able to get down there to scout in February just wanting to get an idea of what I'll probably be getting into. Thanks in advance for any advise.

Don't know anything about it living in Tennessee but I am jealous.

Not a bad area for a first Florida hunt   Most places are a little wetter than normal now but should dry up before the season.  Good luck.
Btw - the FWC Harvest report shows 25 birds taken there last year.  That's not bad since few scout much for these quota hunts.
