I'm liking Griz's collection.  I see a theme there....

I'm personally fighting the urge to get an 11-87 SM for no reason at all. I used to think of a shotgun as more of a utility (good 12 gauge solves all).  I use my old 870 SM for everything from dove to turkey, but that 11-87 keeps calling my name, just so expensive.

My top photo is the shotgun I used when I shot my first turkey back in 1978.  Just had a full choke barrel and shot it with 2 3/4" High Brass 6 shot.

Neil said something about our turkey guns 25 years ago....

Here is "Bessy"  A Stevens 94 12 gauge with a 3" chamber.  This was my turkey gun for many years.  Fixed full choke, hard recoil pad.  For those that cry about the Encore kicking they should shoot this mule!  :begging:

Top one is my Remington 1100 I purchased 27 yrs ago. Killed several nice birds with it using #4's and a few deer too using buck shot.
Next is my favorite turkey gun, M2 20 gauge with I/C choke
3rd shotgun is my Moss. 835
4th is a Stoeger M2000 with a Burris Speed Dot with I/C choke. it now belongs to my Son.
5th is my new SuperNova with a Eotech 512 scope and a Hevi choke. Have'nt shot it yet.
And last is my M2 12 gauge with a Nikon red dot scope and tipped off with an I/C choke.
I remember when I got my Rem. 1100,Trebark camo was the hot item to wear and Quaker Boy mouth calls was my choice of turkey calls. I shot # 4's because thats what my Dad always used.
Its funny how, now we have all these fancy chokes, Hevi shot shells, red dot scopes and so many different turkey calls to choose from. Oh yeah, what the heck was a decoy and a blind! Never heard of it.
Times have changed , but the love of turkey hunting never has.

Here are my turkey guns that I have made up this year. In the past, I have just grabbed a choke, shell, and went.  This year, I have dedicated a lot of time and money into different choke/shell combos to get good patterns. Here is what I have!

1) Benelli SBE2 12 ga w/ 28" bbl and IC .665 choke
2) Mossy 835  12 ga w/ 24" bbl and JH .690 choke
3) Rem. 870 20 ga w/ 26" bbl and PG .555 choke
4) Benelli M1 Super 90 20 ga w/ 28" bbl and Hevi shot brand .573 choke

I am going today to sight in scopes and pattern the 20 ga's.  12's will be shooting Hevi 13 #7's and 20's will be tested with Hevi #6, #7, and Mag Blends.

Heres my old school H&R Topper Deluxe with adj factory sites and wearing factory camo,,will shoot 2 3/4"-3 1/2" but the I dont shoot the
3 1/2"s out of it,,,,,weighing in at a little less than 7 lbs it kicks like a stuborn old mule that it is.I have a Jellyhead .670 choke on it and it shoots Hevi-shot Mag Blends very well.

I bought this gun used from a guy that came up to me at a gas station 15 years ago when i was done turkey hunting,,,he seen my camo and thought i would be a prospective buyer. He had some bills to pay and was getting rid of some guns and when he said he had this one i was interested,,,I bought it for $75,,,its been a great gun and really enjoy toteing it around in the turkey woods.

Here's my newest one. Mossberg 835 topped with a Bushnell Trophy 1.75-4X scope. The only difference is she now has a JH .690 choke instead of the stock choke.

Ummm...can't remember but not sure that I'd recommend them though. The actually dipped, instead of taping off, the portion of my barrel that slides into the receiver. I'll be luck if I ever get that sucker apart now that it's assembled.  >:(

I like the rubber coating on it and the dip job was just OK. But, it is what it is. Just with they would have taped things off instead of dipping it without thinking.

Here are my two.  The top is my old Viking Grade 835.  It came with a 28 inch barrel, but a few years ago I bought the 24 that is on it.  Suprisingly, I get much better patterns with it.  It has a Mossberg x-full and I shoot 3 inch Winchester supreme 2 oz number 6s.

The bottom is a Remington 870 Express that I won in a calling contest last year.  It originally had the laminated wood stock.  I have put on the camo synthetic stock, Williams Fire Sights, and an Indian Creek Choke.  I plan on running hevi shot through this one.  This weekend I am going to polish the barrel and try mag blend,. 6's, and 7s.

We usually have a show and tell thread each season - Everyone show us what you use , some guys got a ton of turkey guns to use -

Let me get it started with my near 20 season strong and going, Remington SP 10 - 10ga 23" barrel -

The paint is a little beat up , but I will have her retouched up soon -- Kicks choke in it for the Federals - I have a 11-87 pistol grip modified to it , and a Aimtech Saddle with a Burris M-TAC Scope and a Fast Fire 2 - These are some nice sights -

Same pair of old 835's.  I do shoot Indian Creek chokes in them now instead of these Kicks.

Details:
Mossberg 835, 24"
ATI tactical pistol grip butt stock
Custom dipped, Realtree APG
Mossberg picatinny rails
TruGlo multi-reticle red/green dual color reflex sights
MagPul ladder style rail covers
Factory sights removed
LaserLyte magazine tube picatinny rail adapters, modified
Midwest Industries picatinny rail sling swivel stud adapters
Custom side attach adjustable slings
Brownell's steel raised safety slide buttons
Indian Creek Black Diamond .675 turkey chokes
Brownell's stainless steel shell followers
Brownell's stainless steel extra power magazine springs
Polished barrel bores
Winchester XRHD 3.5-2-6  225 in 10" @ 40 yrds

I have received numerous PM's inquiring about my slings.  They are indeed homemade starting with Browning Xcellerator slings and custom modified.  I carry the gun in what is referred to as patrol carry style. Basically you wear your gun leaving your hands free.  The gun can be worn front or back and can be swung from back to front and fired without ever taking the sling off your shoulder.

My Mossberg 835 with a Star Dot .676 choke.  Optic is a Simmons 4 x 32mm Pro-Diamond scope.  Added a limbsaver to her and shooting Hevi-Shot 3.5" 2.25 oz #6s with great success. This will be my second year hunting with her.

My newest addition, just got this summer, is a Remington 11-97 Sportsman 20 gauge.  Have not totally settled on a choke, but as of right now I have the TruGlo SSX for it with a TruGlo Red Dot to top her off.  Going to be shooting Hevi-Shot 3" 1.25 oz #7s out of her.  Here is a picture the night I got her, will have to take and update the picture with one of how she looks now.

Had another 835 that was my first Turkey gun that I used for 5 or 6 years.  It was good to me, but someone decided they needed it more than me.  Miss that ole girl, even though she was in retirement.

My past favorite. Mossberg 535 with Jellyhead choke. That thumbhole stock makes the gun feel like no other. Feels like it was custom made just for me. Purchased a used BPS stalker now and based upon early patterning, it may be my new favorite. But i will forever love a thumbhole stock like the 535.

Hope pic comes through

Here she is.... Ol Mossy 835. Right now she rides with a Jelly Head 690, Limbsaver recoil pad and a Bear claw sling. She has a home made raised comb and a set Hi Viz sights. She shootin' 3 ½" M.B.
She gets lonely at times in the off season. She loves long walks in the woods. She also loves the celabratory dancing of slayed gobblers. She is one of a kind. No man may hold, except myself. She is a true turkey slayer!
Her name is Frances.

Here's my Remington 870 20ga.  Started life as a youth model with wood furniture.  I switched out the butt stock with a Knoxx SpecOps.  I threw on a LimbSaver recoil pad.  I replaced the front forearm with a synthetic from remington.  I had the receiver drill and tapped for a rail and installed a Burris FF II with a picatinny mount and Warbird guard.  I shoot 1 5/8oz TSS #9's reloads thru a Remington Super Full Choke.  I gave it a custom paint job.  She is bad news on turkey birds!!!!!

Well I didn't want to steal the ol' mans thunder but since he doesn't seem to be posting I guess I'll have to do it for him since I took the pic.
Mid 80's Remington 1100 (I believe), Mossberg 835, Benelli M2 20ga, Stoeger M2000, Benelli Super Nova 12ga (which now has an eotech mounted) and a Benelli M2 12ga.  That man has a sickness I tell ya...hahaha.  I'm know he has kills with them except the Stoeger.  I took an Osceola with that gun two years ago and have since claimed that one from him... its still in my cabinet here in FL.  Not sure if he took one with the Mossberg or not.  That M2 20ga is a turkey killing machine... that one has quite a few under its belt

doesn't get any simpler than this.  870 super mag with a 23" barrel, jellyhead choke and 3" 5 shot lead.  i really like the shorter barrel as it doesn't get hung up on limbs.

Here are my babies. I have a growing addiction with shotguns.

Top is a Benelli SBE2 performance shop turkey w/ff3, trigger job (polished trigger works with 3lb trigger), tactical cocking hammer, and the usual performance stuff ( lengthened/polished forcing cone, ported barrel, .655 RR choke, slammer button) and I had him install me a better recoil pad because the slip on one one it came with felt like concrete. Yet to kill a bird with it, (just got it finished)

2nd one is my baby. Just a 870 special purpose Max Gobbler with FF3 and .660 Rhino. Took the Knox stock off and put on a shurshot. Put the Knoxx on another 870.

3rd is Beretta Xtrema2 w/ .671 HEVI-shot choke.

4th is my retired baby. 870 Sps-T super mag w/ pure gold .670.

5th is 870 with Knoxx stock.
6th is stoeger m2000.
7th is Benelli nova with .660 rhino
8th is old mossberg maverick with MAD choke (used it to kill my first turkey......) one day I'm gonna bring it out of retirement for old times sake.

Mossberg 500 12 ga, 3", 20" barrel, fiber optic sights.

Light, handy, powerful. I've moved the front sling swivel to the bottom of the barrel lug to make room for a small, barrel mounted box call and swapped the factory choke for a Star Dot. I might fiddle with a beefier rear sight or try a red dot just for fun, but otherwise I can't think of a thing I want to change.

Here are my two dedicated turkey rigs.  The one on the left is my 870 special purpose mag in 12 GA.  Equipped with aTru Glo Gobble stopper red dot, and my choke is the Hevi Choke .662.  It prefers Hevi 2 oz 3" #6's.  The second gun is a newly finished product.  I converted my SP-10 from a goose rig to a turkey rig.  It took me forever to find one, but just recsently I baught a 23" barrell for it.  Then on Sunday I wrapped it in the Mossy oak  wrap kit.  I mounted A Tru-Glo Redot Gobble stopper on it.  Now that it's ready I have to shoot it and see waht is the best.  Shannon hooked me up with a Kicks 690 choke and some federal #7's.  I also have a Rhino 720 and some Nitro 2X5X7 ammo I am going to try.  It will be fun seeing what is best

That is an awesome gun!  Shoots like butter.  My only problem is the barrel length.  I love the short 20"-22" barrels, but I will say I have shot more turkeys with my Benelli SBE, than I have my old Mossberg Ulti-mag.  I don't really like the extended forearm reach I have on my ulti-mag.  Makes it difficult to shuck a shell for a follow-up shot.

Between the two,  I prefer the Benelli.  Its lighter too than my Mossberg.

And don't call her Francis!
;D

That is the exact same Mossberg I use!  Love that gun, its just heavy and my arms are too short for it.

Wow! Those are some good lookin turkey gun's. Well I got this Mossy 835 with the Mossy Oak Breakup finish, 24" ported ribbed barrel, and the factory turkey choke and 2 full chokes, yesterday. I traded my 835 with the 28" barrel. The guy wanted mine because of the barrel lengh and I wanted his, well can you see why I wanted it?...lol. Im going to try the Mossberg factory turkey chock out here soon to see what pattern it puts up compare to my Tru Glo ported turkey choke. The same one I kill my 22 lb Boss Tom with, back in the Spring season. Really thinkin about buyin a JellyHead for it.

Some nice guns posted on here. I'm pretty simple. I run with a NEF 12gauge 3 1/2 single shot. Gets the job done. Patterns pretty nice with hevi13 #6's. Longest kill 43 yards. Stock chock with bead sight. Maybe one day I'll get one of those fancy ones.

Crappy pic but I have to pattern my trusty TC Encore with my Indian creek choke, and pattern the 23" barrel with factory extra full choke 870. I think the 870 will make a better coyote shorty than turkey gun but it will be fun to see what I prefer.

Just got this one finished. I finally decided to get it drilled and tapped this year, instead of using a saddle. I also decided to go with a Mossy Oak skin. Loved the way my duck gun came out and wanted it on this one. Because of the Shurshot, I got a sheet of the stuff, instead of the gun kit. Still super easy. It has some wrinkles at the ends of the fore grip. They could have avoided that with some clever Xacto-ing, though. I stole OldGobbler's idea about putting the material on the side of the rib. I didn't want the material on the grip areas and decided to spray them with rubber. They are really nice and "grippy" now. I'll just have to wait and see how it holds up. Based on my other gun, I don't have any worries about the skin holding up, though.

Here is a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge that I bought at K-mart 22 years ago.    I bought the Remington Sureshot stocks to replace the wood.  I added a b-square saddle mount w/ Truglo Gobbledot.  I sent the barrel to Mike Orlen in Western MA and had the barrel cut to 23",  had it ported, had the forcing cones lengthened, and had the barrel polished.  I then did my own custom camo paint job on the barrel and reciever (couldn't afford to have it dipped).  It was a fun project , that turned an old dust collector into a gun I love to use.  It is an ugly beast, but the gun puts out scary good patterns with an SSX choke.

Here's mine.

My go-to turkey gun for the past 15 years, a left-handed Benelli SBE with a 26-inch barrel topped with a Burris Fastfire 2.

I just bought a back-up for my Benelli, another SBE just like my go-to gun only it has a 24-inch barrel and fiber optic sights.

My Browning BPS turkey guns

3-inch 12 gauge
(http://i62.tinypic.com/2duxh8k.jpg)

10 gauge, Ole Thumper
(http://i61.tinypic.com/2hehxqw.jpg)

The gun that I hunted with for years, an A-5 Belgium Browning 3-inch with a 32-inch barrel that was my Dad's favorite gun before he passed away. I did not know that a turkey gun should be camoed and have a short barrel with a screw-in choke. I killed a whole bunch with this gun shooting #4s in the full choke barrel.

This is after I had it drilled & tapped & covered it in Mossy Oak Infinity camo film.  Also installed a UltraDot Red dot sight.

Latest look.  Went back to my old TruGlo Tru-Brite.  Had to change back to a higher comb height & camo it to match the stock.  Turned out great.  Love this setup better.

I wanted to do a DIY camo on this gun about 3 years ago. I have hand painted guns in the past, but I wanted to see how far I could push this project. I decided that since a gun's profile was already very close to a limb, I would use that as a starting point. There are two basic philosophies in camo, either make it look exactly like something already accepted in the environment, or make it look like it generally belongs in an environment and doesn't draw attention to itself. Most camo companies hold to the second idea because it makes it easier to create clothing in random shapes that are still effective. I went with the first philosophy. The bark pattern runs the long axis of the gun the way it does on a limb. The coloring was done sitting next to a tree in my backyard and matches the color found about 2-3 feet from the ground. I also did a little advanced color camouflage with what is know as countershading. Basically it involves making the color darker on the top and lighter underneath. This effectively counteracts the normal effects of shadows and highlights and leaves it unnoticed. It is able to adjust to changing light conditions throughout the day the same way a real limb does.

When hunting with it, I have had several birds within 10 yards that seem to have paid no attention to it at all. I can report that last year one particular 3 year old slipped in on my wrong shooting side (to the right) and spent the rest of his life watching this gun swing 90 degrees onto him. I figured that since limbs are moving in the woods all the time, he might accept that he simply missed seeing the squirrel jump off it. He clearly saw it, but he didn't react to it and that's what I really wanted.

Just finished a build on my first Turkey gun. Found a guy selling just the receiver and stock, no barrel. It was a NWTF edition, added a 23 inch remington oem barrel with fiber optic sights and a limbsaver sling. Paired it with the Primos jelly Head .660 for now unless the remington X-Full choke patterns better.

Did a little paint fill on the logo.

Nice rig!  :icon_thumright:

My 24" Mossberg 835 just added the tactical stock. Much more comfortable to hold now. I ordered the 5 shot she'll holder and attached it last night.

[/quote] I wanted to do a DIY camo on this gun about 3 years ago.

[/quote]

It might be top secret and you rather not say, but what did you use to make it 3D?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!
Question about mounting system. Actually about the base itself.
Was of the understanding that there was no mounting base available for the A5. That looks like a very viable base. What is it and where did you find it?
Sure lots of guys looking at those A5's but holding off because of limited optics options...

The mount is called "B-Square Universal Cantilever Mount-Ribs up to 3/8-Inch, Matte Black Finish" which I found on Amazon after trying a bunch of different mounting systems, none of which worked. This one, however, fits perfectly and is a solid base to mount an optic to. You can get it on Amazon for around $40, pretty inexpensive.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VYPF2S?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00

Hopefully this helps folks who are interested in the newer Browning A5s and also want optics.

My Winchester 1300 that I've had almost 20 years, has been to Michigan, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, S. Dakota and has over 50 gobblers to it's credit. Leupold NWTF 2-7 x 33 mm w/ Turkey Plex reticle, Tru-Glo Strut Stopper .665 choke by Banser, Old Mike's sling and swivels.

Shot Federal # 4 s for years but they didn't pattern as well after they switched to the Flite Control wad. Switched to Winchester Long Beard XR # 4 s two years ago. This gun is a turkey taggin' machine...although I'd like to think that I had sumpin' to do with it!

Waiting for my Obsession skin to show up for the tristar. Decided to make the tristar my dedicated turkey slayer, at least for this year. I'll be looking into a single shot 20 for next season. Like the idea of a lightweight 20 for running and gunning.

Got these 2 almost ready – just have to pattern them.  Tried not to spend too much on my turkey arsenal, but I think these will serve their purpose well.  I also have a Benelli M1 Super 90 as well, but I don't want to mod it to be turkey-specific since I have this redundant system in place now.  My goal was to have a short turkey gun (870), intermediate gun (835) and a longer barreled gun for waterfowl, etc. (M1 Super 90).  But we all know this is just a starting point, don't we?!  My son is 7 and I should probably start looking for a 870 Express Youth in 20, shouldn't I?  At least "his" 870 would be well sorted when he needs it, correct?

The one on the left is a Remington 870 Express with the factory 28" barrel cutdown to 21" and rethreaded for Remchoke, Truglo trupoint sights, Kicks Gobblin' Thunder .665 choke and Advantage Timber CamoClad Gun Wrap.

The one on the right is a Mossberg 835 Ultimag with the factory 24" barrel, Truglo Gobble Stopper Dot, factory turkey choke as well as a Truglo choke (hope to get a IC, Kick's or Jeb's soon) and MO Breakup CamoClad Gun Wrap.

I give'em a face lift. the 12ga on the left I've had for about 30 years. got the stock set from fieldturkey. the 20ga youth on the right I got for my youngest grandsons 2nd birthday which is May 4th. I got that stock set from madstrutter. they are both shooters. I've killed a LOT of gobblers with the 12 and really looking forward to putting that 20 to good use.

12 Gauge Rossi Turkey Gun, Mossberg .660 choke and Bushnell Trophy red dot.  Set this one up to use this season.  Put a handful down with it shooting 2 3/4" Fed 7s.  Current project gun is a Yildiz TK 12 single shot.  Hope to have it ready before the fall season.  If so, this Rossi will be relegated to 3rd place, as it is the heaviest of the three and I'm not a fan of the double safety.  Nevertheless, shoots a good pattern and is well balanced.

My favorite turkey gun is my 12ga Winchester Model 1897 made between 1905 and 1906. I really love this old gun. It patterns great and there's not too many people that still hunt with this gun. 113 years later and it's still knocking down birds.

Post by: Brighthd on March 04, 2019, 03:54:54 PM
I rebuilt my original 835 goose gun into a custom turkey gun based on the ideas i got from this forum and some research on line.  I started with an Briley .665 choke, ATI stock, then added a base and Tru Glo Gobbler Dot sight, then did a trigger job with new tactical spring kit and a tactical safety rebuild.  I took my first two birds with it last season both at 35 yards.  I am hoping others will re-purpose their older shotguns like this and get the enjoyment I have.  This was all around $150.

This year I am going to go with a .675 ported choke, and maybe do a rattle can paint job.  I bought a trigger stick as well.

Thanks, I have a thumbhole stock on a inline Night muzzle loader rifle I use for deer hunting and I find it very comfortable, that is one of the reasons I would like to add one. I have only found 2 companies that make them for this gun I think the fist is called surefire or shureshot and the other is Rapid Fire Gunstocks and only the second is a true thumbhole stock. Where my debate comes in is that I got this gun with money I got after my father died when he was electrocuted to death in a construction job, so that is a big debate for me. I can't afford another gun though and dipping it and the scope is within my range after I get a vehicle. In one way I think leave it as it is and in another way I think he would want me to have it as I would want it.

My favorite turkey gun is my 12ga Winchester Model 1897 made between 1905 and 1906. I really love this old gun. It patterns great and there's not too many people that still hunt with this gun. 113 years later and it's still knocking down birds.
What shells you shooting?

Here is my Winchester SX3 with an Aimpoint 9000SC red dot and Indian Creek choke. Love this combo

And my Benelli M1 (before and after) that I had Rob Roberts cerakote. Debating a red dot or keep it simple gun.

I wouldn't give that much for one. If you're not in a hurry I think you can beat that price.

Going to try this next season.  Missed a really mature Tom this past season at a little over 5 yards.  It was the only shot I had and my pattern from my Benelli with a RR Triple Threat choke tube was about the size of a baseball at 5 yards.

Have a super full choke in the top barrel and an improved cylinder in the bottom barrel.  Patterned it this morning and looks pretty good.  Going to get the forcing cones lengthened this week to see if I can fill the pattern a little bit more.

Here is my new dedicated rig. Super excited to have a pistol grip and shorter barrel. Plan on getting a better red dot mount soon, but the rail will do for now. Starting off with a Carlsons non ported 660 choke and Longbeard 3" #5's. Hope to get it patterned in the next week or so. I eventually want to get it dipped in Mossy Oak, probably Greenleaf. This gun was an excellent price over on Gunprime if anyone is looking for one.

Red Neck Turkey Getter - Marlin 200 12 guage that my dad got for me from K-Mart about 20 years ago. Recently sent it to Sumtoy and had the barrel cut down to 23 1/2" and threaded for win-choke, had him put on the mount for a burris ff3 (got the ff3 from him) & a .665 choke. I was a little shakey aiming at a turkey on opening day and loosened my grip on the forend... just about blew the gun out my hands. Thing has freaky recoil.

Not to answer for the OP but I enjoy taking my 1935 Winchester 1897 out as well. Something about pulling the hammer back on a pump action! Unique for sure.  Good to see another 1897 out in the field .

I've shot a few birds with mine, 30in barrel full choke. It patterns fairly well to 40yds with plain Remington express long range #5s that I use in it to pheasant hunt. I did buy some 2-3/4in longbeard #5s that puts a really tight pattern at 40.

Used the same longbeards this year in. 1928 Ithaca Flues 12ga side by side with good results up to about 35yds. Took a bird at right around 40 trying to skirt around me but he dropped stone dead. Remington 20 ga 870. 21 inch barrel choked with an Indian creek .555. Topped off with a Swampfox kingslayer. I'll start with this and see how it pattern's. I will hopefully get a dip job on it before next year also.

The Stoeger M3000 got a little face lift today. The Mossy Oak wrap worked good and didn't leave any residue behind just like they claim, but I thought it made the foregrip to slippery for me. Ordered the Steadygrip and fore grip in Realtree APG to change things up from all the Bottomland I have in the safe.

Can't wait to see how the 2 3/4" 2oz #9 from Apex and Wilson's Custom Loads (when they are available) will pattern.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220201/13ddc8c655250f0d3e63efceff446be2.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220201/4447fc959467e96fab880ab454ad669c.jpg)

Mossberg SA-20 Turkey finished in OG bottomland with a TSS JellyHead .560 constriction, and a burris FF
Backup: Stevens 301 20ga with a truglo micro red dot and the factory choke.
Both set ups are shooting Apex TSS GT-20 #9s

Have two dedicated turkey guns...found a 24" barrel for the 870 to slap on during turkey season and mounted some William's sights on it, and just picked up the Mossberg .410 this weekend.

These are the ones I plan on hunting this spring. It will depend on where I'm hunting or how the wind is blowing lol.
Encore 12 ga using TSS 9 shot my reloads. I call it over kill.

The Encore 45/410 Apex 9 shot TSS

And the Renegade with a 28ga cylinder bore.

New rig for 2023:
- Benelli Montefeltro 20ga Compact (short LOP/24" barrel)
- Drilled and tapped by local gunsmith, and Sumtoy Mount
- Drilled and tapped and installed Franchi release button
- Burris FF3
- Cerakoted by Preston at Ironhorse Gunworks (Colors: Magpul OD Green - Satin finish/ Bolt done in black)
- Chokes I still have to decide. Own Jebs 565 and Sumtoy 562. We'll see which one is the winner on paper.

I initially wrapped wood stock and forend with Mossy Oak graphics vinyl, but I wasn't happy with the results. I will run it as is.

Changed it up a little. I wanted something a little different from everyone else's gun. Took off the wrap off the stock, sanded the stain, and restrained it with a greener stain and distressed it some. Still thinking about what's next for it. I have too much time on my hands

Very sharp, nice work. I like this look better than the original look also.

If you go to where it say "Copy Link" there are 3 dots, click on that and then go to "Get Share Links" then go to "BBCode (Forums)" and copy that and paste it there then you picture will show instead of the link.  I posted pictures down below to show you as well. Not a bad looking gun by the way.

I can't seem to find those options on my phone. I can copy and share but there is no option for anything else. Thanks though.

I posted earlier the gun I intended to turkey hunt with, but no matter what I'm hunting more times than not, I end up taking my Blaser BBF97 12 ga over 308 combo gun.

I've been working on what's probably a one of a kind Encore turkey shotgun and finally got it put together last night. I've got two of the kevlar stocks that Virgin Valley Custom Guns sold in the early 2000's, and I decided to try to make one work on a shotgun barrel. Both forends are cut for full bull barrels, so the only modification needed was to the barrel with a hangar bar. I was told by two Encore/hangar bar experts that my idea wasn't possible, but after a bit of filing and drilling out the holes to fit the mounts on the barrel, I got everything to mate up. I think it turned out pretty good and wanted to share. I may paint the stock.

Beautiful job. I would not paint the stock. It's good as is. Thx for the share and good luck with it.
