MDSTRUTNRUT

GOOD STORY!  My parents were Ukrainian  WW II  immigrants and never hunted really never let down and relaxed to enjoy any sports other than fishing and that better be catchin  LOL   I however got hooked on hunting especially turkey with friends and an older brother, now trying to pass it on to my family as your story.  We're surrounded by many public parcels and do some chasing and occasional killing on there but still mostly on private.   However have explained to my kids and family that probably there will be a day that access to private will be very limited or none at all so we're lucky to have access to public so close to home.   GREAT READ THANKS FOR SHARING!

Great story, Garrett,....so very similar to my own experience back in 1975 that "flipped the switch" for me on the public, National Forest lands of southern New Mexico.  Over the decades, I have hunted many types of game animals, big and small,...and still do.  To this day, none of them compare to the thrill of a gobbling and strutting gobbler in the springtime woods.
