I am very OCD about guns and rust. I avoid mixing guns and moisture at all costs. I justify it like this, I hunt for fun and enjoyable experiences, getting soaking but wet, all my turkey call and gear wet, gun wet....that's not fun or enjoyable. That leads more work and headaches. So hinting in the rain is just not worth it to me. But if there is a chance of raining the forecast I have backups guns that I bought used and care less about. I will take them instead of my main gun. Benefit of mossberg is that aluminum recieved and cheap. Replacement parts are easy to find and cheap. Makes for good rainy day backup gun.
