100%, but once I wake up and actually make it to the woods the percentage drops a little bit.

It varies so widely from year to year and location to location..........

I've had years on my home turf that were 100%.   I had years in the same place that were 0%.

Wyoming public land Merriam's in 2018..........  about 5-10 %
Mexican Gould's in 2007........... 50%
Nebraska private land Merriam's in 2014........... 0%
Same place in 2018............  75%
Last year on the home ranch Eastern's............  80% (calling, also for my daughter and brother)

I could go on and on..........  The 0% years are few and far between.  But they're turkeys.  And turkeys are ignorant.

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

:)  :)  You're only 100% when you're dreaming?  Heck, when I'm asleep I kill about 500% of 'em! I always use that in my "awake" average too,...and that brings me up to somewhere in the neighborhood of 13% overall.  :)

Definitely less than 50%. Couldn't come up with an exact number, I don't pay that much attention. You got courtesy gobbles, skittish turkeys afraid to go anywhere, old wise turkeys that have hens but gobble anyway, etc etc.

When you do get a bird that's hot and ready, it's almost too easy. But it doesn't happen as often as we'd like to think, so it seems a lot tougher due to the effort put forth to find such a bird.

Answer me on the limb or shortly after daylight- 2 to 3 out of 10.
Answer me after 9am- 50/50

Above subject to change at any time.  0% to 100% :z-dizzy:

I don't know but it is probably fairly low.  Don't have much trouble getting to answer me but many of those don't work to a kill.

I just want to hunt and kill gobblers , i didn't worry about percentages ...

This is me.

Some times I can't do anything wrong, other years I can't do anything right.

I am lucky in more ways than one and have a lot of ground to hunt. Some of it is awesome ground. I would say after 10 if a turkeys gobblers and I can set up on him, we are going to dance. I will get more of those than walks away, by far. Off the roost? Lone gobbler? Two/three 2 year olds? Two three year olds with hens? Lots of variables... In the area I hunt, I believe a descent turkey hunter will kill a gobbler 33% of the time afield. I know guys that do better than that. You have to take what is giving and make it happen.

For me this year it seems to be about 10 percent :bike2:
