Do turkeys hang out in creek bottoms? Or up on ridge tops?

There are zero guarantees with turkeys. My answer is yes.

Hunted se MN for many years on public land until they opened seasons up north by the cabin. Always started on top unless I had one patterned. Most bird found tended to roost in trees that where on the side of the hills about1/2 to 3/4's up where the roost braches would allow them to glide to or close to the top. They didn't always glide to the top but the option was there if they disired. Only went down to bottom if I had to or it was a good sized valley with farmland or pasture.

Mostly Ridge tops here in Western NC but I have seen the opposite a few times

Unfortunately seems like the answer is turkeys or just gonna be turkeys... I think I kinda have an idea though...

I feel like they spend the day in the bottoms and climb to the tops, eat a little and then pitch into a tree.
