Age old discussion?? Hatsan escort Ps20 youth.

I'm looking at a couple different youth guns and the hatsan escort 20ga Ps20 youth is one. I'm trying to figure out what year this gun was made and which thread pattern chokes it runs. I've seen mixed answers so I was hoping someone had this shotgun and can enlighten me before I decide to pull the trigger on it or not. Depending on if it is rem choke (1100), ber/Ben mobil, huglu, or "hatsan's custom threads" will be the deciding factor.

Never had this particular one, but have an Escort 20 gauge auto loader that has killed plenty of turkeys, ducks, and doves. Also have a 12 gauge auto loader but every two years the rubber ring that seals the gas tube would always be worn down usually making the gun inoperable mid duck hunt.

For the price of the guns, I loved them, that being said haven't seen any of their newer products, they used to run the Escoets on sale at Bass Pro sub $200 all the time.

I'm not 100% confident, and not sure if they use their own threads now, but both the older Escorts I have were interchangeable with Mossberg chokes even though they came with their "own" chokes it lined up with Mossberg threads and never had a cross threading issue in either gun.

That being said they could have changed it, as i know they did a rebranding and some company changes a few years back, that's why prices went up a little. If they carry them at your local Bass Pro  or a gun shop, I'd suggest asking to see the choke taken out and compare it to a Moss choke, maybe see if the sales associate would take an aftermarket Mossberg choke and lightly try to screw it in to the Escort. If he knows what he's doing, it shouldn't risk cross threading as long as nothing is forced.

I'm trying to find a production date on those shotguns. From what I could find I think they are from around 2013?? Not sure on that. Only found a couple online shops that even carried that model. None of my local shops even carry LSI .

I have a 20 ga pump that takes v1 threads and its been an excellent little gun and I have a semi in camo setup and It's killed multiple big bucks,toms and I have used both for grouse and waterfowl as well for the last 7 years with not 1 issue.I find them to be outstanding guns for hunting.  I do agree about the different choke threads as I originally was told they were different and ordered 2 turkey chokes only to them be incorrect but once we figured out the threads...excellent purchases.

They are both v1 threads.I was told they were something else and ordered turkey chokes only for them to be the wrong thread the first time.The guns are worth the money and a solid hunting tool.I painted my pump camo,the semo is already camo.I have no complaints and consider them a great buy.

I had one of my greatest turkey hunts with the pump.We located a tom that was treeing about 100 yards from our camp the last day in 2016.They never tree on our own land so we set up a plan and I went down to the little field about 45 minutes before sunrise the last day.The tom was there.he gobbled and gobbled,I could not see him until he fluffed up just before he flew down and landed about two feet in front of me,as soon as he turned around he looked straight at me and started to run,well...I couldn't get the gun on him fast enough and as he started to fly I missed him about 11 yards as he was starting to take off....I heard him gobbling the next morning from same area.What a great hunt.

I bought this exact gun for my son this Christmas and it takes the Rem Choke tubes thread pattern.  The gun came with 4 tubes and I just bought a Carlsons turkey choke for it, planning to shoot #9 TSS shells.

I was looking at these prior to ordering my son the Mossberg Bantam Turkey.  I emailed them through their Hatsan USA website https://www.hatsanusa.com and was told the gun was not drilled and tapped which is what turned me off to them.  The person that also emailed me back said the new guns use the V3 threads (i think thats the one he said) and also told me which thread pitch they are.  Id suggest shooting them an email or check the website and see if it says what chokes they use i cant remember for definate.

If I could find the 20 gauge 22" bottomland semi up here I would buy it no questions,the hatsan guns have been excellent.I have 26" barrels on mine.

My buddy and his son shoot one, he drilled and tapped himself no problems.
I ended up going a different route because of the choke situation. Seems you can't be sure unless you can lay hands on it before purchasing or order straight from legacy.

I've checked and I can't find any in Canada at all.We do not have near the selection to pick from up here,all I see is the few that I own and a few 12 gauge options.I would have already bought the bottomland 22" if they would bee available.

I guess you're saying you can't purchase a firearm from out of country.... Or is it just a pain to deal with?
