I ask that with all sincerity. I had a friend of mine who used to hunt barefoot in Florida. He also got struck by water moccasins on two occasions. I'd never think of hunting barefoot. My tootsies are too tender, and I'd hate to get snake bit.

I use the lacrosse grange 18" boots. Mossy oak break up country. Not bad, glad they're not real bulky... when these go I'm probably gonna get the alpha burlys

Here in Minnesota the spring hunt weather can be anywhere from winter snowstorms to an early spring warm up with summer-like temperatures. 

Insulated Waterproof - LaCrosse
Uninsulated Waterproof - Meindl - most expensive and most uncomfortable boots I've ever owned.  I'm too cheap to buy new ones until they wear out
Uninsulated No Longer Waterproof - Rocky - light boots that have lasted a long time although no longer water proof
Uninsulated wet boots - 18" Neoprene / Nylon - LaCrosse Alphaburly

Crocs in 4 wheel dry mode. most of the time it's a pair of uninsulated rockys 10 inch high . Ya getting wet no matter what if your crossing swamps in the cypress , rubber boots are useless.

Russell  Snakeboots are my primary turkey hunting boots. I also keep a pair of Danner Pronghorns snakeboots to wear if my Russell's get wet.
