The Old Pro Turkey Hunter
Illumination in the Flatwoods
One Man Game

If you've read those 3, start over lol.

NC pine chicken

Find Deep enough for Ivorybills, by James Kilgo. It's a fine read. Not about turkey hunting specifically, just hunting tradition in the south.

To add to ccleroy's list:

The Art and Science of Turkey Hunting
The Turkey Hunting World of Ben Lee
"A turkey hen speaks when she needs to speak, and says what she needs to say, when she needs to say it. So every word a turkey speaks is for a reason." - Rev Zach Farmer

Turkey hunting digest by Jim Spencer was a pretty good read

Rapscallion Vermilion

I enjoyed the Turkey Men, both volumes.  To those above I'd add a few more good reads
America, Wild Turkeys, & Mongrel dogs (Kenny Morgan)
Turkey Tails and Tales from Across the USA, both volumes (Doc Weddle)
Bad Birds (Jim Spencer)

Chordeiles

Spring Gobblers
By one of your fellow mountaineers, John Lowther, from Lost Creek.

Find 'Letters to my Grandsons' by Larry Proffitt a turkey hunter who hunted with the likes of Dwain Bland Ralph Permar, learned from Wingbone (Wylie) Cryer, Zach Farmer, Lamar Williams, Billy Buice among others. A great read. Once I started I couldn't put it down.
We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

Spitten and drummen

One man game and old pro turkey . 2 of the best reads about turkey hunting.
" RANGERS LEAD THE WAY"
"QUEEN OF BATTLE FOLLOW ME " ~ INFANTRY
"DEATH FROM ABOVE " ~ AIRBORNE

All the above of course. I like Dr. Lovett Williams for the science and Wayne Bailey for just a good read

if you like to fall hunt a good book is "Education of a turkey hunter" by Frank Hankerat

on the Lovett Williams website there are reprints of 4 of the old classics, Davis, Jordan, Everett and Tom Turpin, all good books to read

Bay1985

The Wild Turkey and it's Hunting By McIlhenny. The first book written on the sport of turkey  hunting using the journals of Charles L Jordan himself, probably the greatest turkey hunter that ever lived,a lot of his theories and hunting strategies are still relevant even after over a 110 years.

I am not a person who reads much, outside of the Bible, but one of the best books I ever read was A walk Across America and A walk west. It is a chronicle of Peter Jenkins walk across America to find himself. He records all the people he met and stayed with and the jobs he done. As an outdoorsman you will enjoy his escapades. The sequel is A Walk West. It's an older book, but still available.

Somewhere Along The Way by Johnson, Andy was very good. Short stories of his life out hunting but told in a way that it's not a "look at me" or product pusher book. Made me feel like I was there with him.

X2 for Bad Birds (Jim Spencer) I am reading it along with a couple others including Dr. Lovett Williams The Book of the Wild Turkey which is also very good if you are like me and like biology though that is not all he does.

Oh by the way I hope you heal up quickly, been in a few of those myself.
