reloading 30-06 info please

I came across a bunch of new 30-06 primed cases, 180 nosler partitions and 165 partitions. Does anyone have any good recipies for either of these? Right now i am shooting rem core lokt 150's for deer but i will be also hunting moose this year. Would the 165's work good for both deer and moose? or should i stick with 150 for deer and go with the 180 for moose ?   thanks..

I would stick with the core-lokt 150's for deer.  The 165 partitions would work, but they (along with the 180's) are better constructed for elk.  As far as moose go, a 180 partition would be the MINIMUM that I'd use...in fact, I'd much prefer something bigger and/or faster.

I reloaded years ago for a Remington 700 chambered in a 30-06 and used 165 grain boat-tail bullets and 168 grain match boat-tail bullets and use (if I remember correctly) 45 grains of IMR 4064 powder. It was a very accurate load.

When loading the Nosler 165's I prefer RL-22.  I just started using that powder about two years ago in a couple of my 30-06's.  I picked up a full 100 fps with the powder.  And maintained great accuracy.  RL-22 works great for me. I use the 165 BT instead of the partition, but both bullets will work great.  Tom.

I have had great experience with RL 22 and RL 19 with 165 and 180 grain bullets as well.

The 4350s work great with 150-180s in the 06.

Check out Hodgdon's site for data on both IMR4350 and H4350.  I'd pick which ever you can get your hands on and try the max listed load.  With 4350, you will not run into any problems starting with the max listed loads other than possible compressed loads depending on what your seating depth works out to be.

R22 will work among many others, but I prefer the 4350s to get the 180s moving in the 2700fps range.

As to the 180 NPT going 2700, there isn't a breathing animal in NA that can take that abuse with a well placed shot.

59.0grs H4831 + WW Brass + 180 Nosler = 2737fps and very sub MOA from my 2 30/06's. 

I load them .005" off the lands, brass lasts forever.  One gun is running .5 MOA and the other .7 MOA @ 100yds.  I stretched one out to 620 and it was very consistent at that range.

H4350 is what I use for my .270 win.  Hodgen bought IMR so either one as stated is good to use.  I have found Hodgen is easier to find.  The 165 or 180 will take down an animal with the right shot, but you have to know and abide by your limits.  Good Luck!

last fall i reloaded on 51grains of IMR 4064 powder are awesome accurate on the target with Hornaday GMX 165gr boattail and killed 2 bucks on the neck last fall 125 yds and 80 yds quick down..... Weathlbery Vanguard II

I'd load up the 180 NP with IMR 4350. I load Winchester cases with 56 grs. Will work on deer or elk or moose. My favorite bullet for 30 years.
