Boy, the NY weather has not cooperated in the third year in a row. It has rained daily for the first 9-days of the season, but i got lucky again. My cuz roosted my bird the night before so we came up with a tactical plan for the morning. The bird was roosted in a nearby field and we went in the dark and he took one end of the small field and i took the other opposite of the bird. The field is small but the birds love the area over the years. After almost a sleepless night, we got into position and gave a couple of tree yelps and he fired off which scared me s#%^less. We zipped it and he gobbled a few more times before leaving the roost. Once he hit the ground in front of me at 25-yards, i dropped the hammer. The bird is a runt at 15-lbs but he has two spurs and 12+" beard. I will post the pictures in our section soon. A great end to my short season and i am already dreaming of next year's season.

I hear ya, I went up there last weekend.  Saw four stutters in the rain, but they saw me too.  The sky fell out Sunday.

I was in Allegany county in a town called Cuba.  I have access to 300 acres up there.  It's beautiful.

I got a pic the afternoon I showed up, but the weather fell apart quick.
