My 870 is similar in appearance to the one in the photo, never-the-less, it's my go-to shotgun for deer and turkeys. About 10 years ago, I inherited my grandfather's Model 12 which brought in table fare during the Great Depression and rabbits when we hunted together during my high school years. A couple of years ago, I took it turkey hunting for its initial turkey experience and brought home a nice 2-year old bird taken at 20 yards with a load of #6 shot in a 2 3/4" high brass shell.
