Whats everyone's ideal shotgun for turkey hunting

Kytomgetter

Remington Sp10. But I'm giving the Mossberg 835 a try this year with the new loads they are offering

The one I hit best with!  LOL.  In my case an old 500, 12ga with 20" barrel.
Love fishing and Deer hunting (Shotgun, Muzzleloader & Pistol). Recently became addicted to Turkey Hunting.

If you're asking cause you want opinions to help you decide there really is no best for everyone.  If someone is weak a lighter gun might work. Recoil sensitive a semi.
Short in the arms, you need a short length of pull gun. Stock drop may even be a prob.

I've been using an Ithaca Turkeyslayer the last few years but my 835 ulti mag had been used since around 1990. Before that all sorts of guns but mostly in 10 ga.
Lots of fellows are now set up w 20s including myself though it doesn't get much use it seems. I don't know why it throws a good pattern and is light.
If I am right , tell us a little about yourself and your hunting and better advice can be given.

My turkey hunting luck was squat before I picked up my sbe 2. There's so many other guns id like to try to hunt with, but if something goes wrong on my hunt I know it'll be because I didn't have my sbe 2 lol

Well, I don't think there's one gun that every one would come close to agreeing on. Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if more turkeys have been killed with either a Remington 870 (all variants) or a Mossberg 835.

Very true

I just got a Winchester SX4, not saying its the best but I do like that its one of the few semi's that you can easily find a cantilever bird barrel for. I like being able to swap barrels and not have to take off the optics, rings and base.

I, LOL, chased my tail for 50+ years looking for the perfect gun, Mossberg, Remington, Browning, Ithaca, etc., and I went full circle back to Mossberg. I have my first, a 1963 500 20GA, still 90% condition and a new 500 12GA camo gun, my other pet gun, a Winchester Ranger 120 12GA in semi-retirement now. There is no best........shoot what ya like and like what ya shoot!

I agree 100%

Not much of a remington shotgun fan but no doubt they have piled up a lot of turkeys.

I like multiple guns, shot a plain 870 super mag for years with 28" barrel and magblends, did my old youth Mossberg 500 20 with a red dot and hw weight 7s now i have been using my sbe2 with 28" barrel and hw 7s really enjoy the simplicity of the double beed site and the way the sbe 2 patterns but I carry all them throughout the season. I am gunna start messing with a full size single shot 410 here soon.
