Cool on the additional farm, good luck there. It's still a novelty to me to get to hunt farm country, so much different then the pine jungles we roam down here.

Does the 301 have sling swivels?

No, but the 301 T does. It has a screw on forearm that really does not make sense to be there so pretty sure it can be added.

Got the shells yesterday. Feels weird to think about shooting a turkey with such a small shell. I know it will do it, just hard to wrap my mind around.

Donald,

Thanks for the insight.  I have the factory ulti full, .695 I think, still for my 835 and the star dot so I’ll give both a whirl and see what happens.  I have a GT gobblin thunder in my 500, .655 I believe, so we’ll see what it does.  Not looking for huge numbers just an even, killable pattern.  I’ll check out Midwest and the other recommendations.

I know you are not looking for huge numbers but the PG 670 seems to be rocking the Feds. May try something in that .670-675 range.

Well I broke down and bought a little Savage 410 for my boy to try.  He is a little young but pretty tough so we are going to try a couple field loads in her and go from there. I have ordered a full choke and some Browning TSS loads, plan to reload for it next season.

Can I ask where you ordered the choke from?

Briley but it is not quite right. SumToy says they are going to make them so going to try and get one from him.

Got the SumToy choke for the 301 yesterday so hope to give it a testing on Saturday.  My new trumpet arrived as well!

Very nice Terry! Is the smaller one what he calls his pocket call?

Shot the .410. Very pleased with the SumToy choke and Browning TSS.

Yes sir. It plays very well for its size. I've wanted a good close range call and have tried several small, tree talk type pots and this by far is my favorite.
