Some great callmakers listed here. My choice is a 2004 Steve Mann paddle. It is death on Gobblers.

I have over 30 of Steve's boxes and they all play. This one just has incredible tonal quality that Gobblers can't resist.

Never heard one of his I didn't like but I do really like this one!

I primarily hunt my own box calls but one call that always goes on my out of state trips is a Lonnie Mabry mahogany box with a walnut lid and base.

Probably my absolute favorite long box combo right there!!!! Yellow popular box, cedar lid or walnut lid gets it done...

Don't own a lot of boxes but my favorite sounding is a Steve Brown Maple/Chestnut box!  Nothing but pure hen!
