LOL so I broke out my old jigs and my metal lathe collets to make a set of crow call nibs this morning. I had a new air channel jig I wanted to try so I chose a piece of scrap wood and milled it flat to each other to spec, threw them into my collet, cut my taper, then I locked em into my new air channel jig. I bored the pair to to depth, worked like a champ, which I knew it would cause its something I came up with years ago but wanted to build a new version.
I thought what the heck, and went ahead and milled my inside ramps for the air channel....and totally screwed em up. I used the wrong degree mill bit and they turned out way to wide and I went a bit to deep. Then...I quit lol.
Anywhoo, just thought Id share some failure today. Still, you always learn from them....and Im not even afraid to show it : )
