For those of you not familiar with snow and tracks:  When the snow starts to melt the tracks look larger because the snow melts around the track edges and the tracks get bigger.  A few years ago two turkey hunters were hunting the morning after a spring storm dropped a couple inches of snow.  By noon they hadn't had any luck and were cold and wet so they decided to drive back to town for lunch. The hunter in the passenger seat had wet boots and socks so he took them off and was warming his feet with the truck heater when they spotted a gobbler standing near the road. The guy in the passenger seat rolled the window down, stuck his shotgun out and shot it and hit it pretty hard but didn't kill it and it started to run off so he jumped out and ran after it in his bare feet.  He caught it after about a 100 yard chase, wrung it's neck and carried it back to the truck and they drove to town.  That afternoon the snow had started melting when a  couple kids got off  the school bus and were walking home when they saw the man's tracks which by that time were a lot longer and wider.  They went home and told their father and the father and his brother went out to look and sure enough, there were the tracks and it was a Bigfoot that people had always claimed lived in that part of the country! Not only was it the elusive Bigfoot but this Bigfoot had actually chased and caught a turkey!  They went home and got on the phone to warn the neighbors and the word spread like wildfire that there was a Bigfoot around and it was fast enough to run down a turkey! Country folks made sure their guns were loaded and standing in the kitchen corner and everyone started carrying guns when they took their kids to the school bus stop and standing guard until the kids were safely on the bus and then meeting them again in the afternoon to make sure they got home safely.  People were alert for more sign of Bigfoot but after a couple weeks nobody had seen any more tracks and the excitement eventually died down but to this day they still talk about the time Bigfoot traveled thru their area!
