Hey guys,
We had an unusually long winter up her in MN, as evidenced by the snow we got again last night. Winter just won't end! I got a call from one of landowners where I hunt and he hunted this last week and never heard a single gobble. Today he was visiting his a friend and out in their field was over 60 birds. The guy said he's been seeing the same flock all winter long and several times in the last week. I'm no biologist, but the rumor is that the birds are still flocked up and haven't gotten to thinking about breeding. Any advice for me?
I can't do much for patterning them over time as I hunt several hours away and we have a lottery system for different seasons up here so I've only got 5 days to hunt, starting Monday. I also only have a couple of spots where I have permission so if they are flocked up and not on my land am I totally screwed?
