RED SLATE

Need some advice, have any of you call makers on here used red slate? I have never heard one with it and would like to know what is the difference with its sounds over the gray slates. Thanks

Red slate is the very hard, dense, higher pitched sound. I find i need to adjust soundboard to lower tone, as i do not like the very high pitch .
