Would like to see some 20ga lead patterns. I don't shoot past 30 yards so lead will work good for me. Here is a 30 yard pattern of Longbeard #5 out of my New England single shot 20.

I use to shoot hevi 13 but I haven't needed to shoot at a bird past 30 yards so I think the this might be my new combo. However the long beard #6s look really good out of this choke also out to 38 yards

Just shoot some pheasant loads at that range! A 7.5 shot dove load would probably do the trick!

get your hands on some Longbeard #6's   you won't be dissappointed
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

Get a box of the Hevi-Shot Triple Beard. It's a great lead load for a 20ga, it patterns great and has the added benefit of 5,6,7 shot.

You lead guys should try the fed grand slam #5 (the new ones from 2018). If you're happy with a 35 yd gun these things are the ticket. On sale at midwayusa right now for 10.79 box of 10.
I shoot them out of a trulock .565 and final strut .570 (both rem 870s, 21 inch and 26 inch barrels) and I'm confident these will take a bird down even out to 38 yards if I misjudge distance. I have a thread with extensive review but here's a couple pics

I shoot a bead so POI can be off a little as I shoot off hand real world conditions. All these were between 35 -40 degrees F

POI was off but I've fixed that with truglo sights
I think it has some room for error at 20.

That's what I wanted to see! My personal opinion the LB's art too tight at 20.  I'll hunt with that.  :icon_thumright:

I have a couple of boxes of LB#5s, I'll have to find the cardboard.  Have some LB#6s in route but those feds look promising!

The LB#6 give me 110-140 in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards with .565 and .570.
I'd like to see how the #5 does for you. Share an update once you pattern them
The federal #5 grand slams give me around 75-100 at 35 & 100-130 at 30, pretty even, and are more forgiving in close. I've shot about 15 rounds and it's pretty consistent. This was in cold to mild temps also (low 30s - 50 F). I have had a few low counts on some shots, for example, 65 in the 10 at 35 yards and 81 in the 10 at 30 yards, but they were nice even patterns and if I look at the 14 inch circle instead of the 10, the numbers are more than enough.
