OUTFITTER IN OHIO KENTUCKY

I'm looking for an unguided hunt next spring in Ohio or Kentucky even Missouri please let me no guys thanks for the help

if you want to hunt Kentucky unguided, why not hunt Daniel boone. if you go with a guide on the eastern part of the state ill bet you wind up in Daniel boone anyway.

well, ive not hunted Daniel boone yet myself. the rugged terrain is why I want to hunt it. I would think it would keep most folks close to the road but steep walking is right up my alley. ive got a couple more years to go and ill have another week off at work, then the birds of Daniel boone are in trouble.

I live in and hunt Ohio and also hunt Daniel Boone in Ky every year. Plenty of land in Daniel Boone and a lot of it is rough country, but good hunting. If I were to give one piece of advice I would say skip opening week. A lot of out of state hunters from Oh, Pa, Ind and such go to Ky as they open a week before their season. even a fair amount of the residents either tag out or go less after that 1st week. There will still be plenty of birds to hunt.  As for Ohio Wayne NF is good but gets a lot of hunting pressure. Shawnee SF along the Ohio river has a good population and less pressure. Expect to find hunters on any state forest in Ohio. If it's closer east central Ohio has a lot of birds and mixed public lands with coal company and power co. lands. SW Ohio has quite a few birds,but is 85% private owned. If you are looking for an outfitter that will turn you loose here is one I know. They own a ton of land and it has a lot of birds. Agree w all the hunt public land sentiment but isn't the Shawnee NF in southern Illinois?   Maybe the Wayne NF has a unit called Shawnee?  I'm a public land hunter and really enjoy Kentucky wma's. They take care of them.  Look up harvest numbers on telecheck for past results.

Good to know, I've never hunted Ohio.  The couple guys I know who hunt it gravitate to public land south along the river, but not sure exactly where.  Good luck in your quest.

Wow way more info then I ever expected thanks guys I hunt and live in the adirondaks and it also is steep rough country I take a compass reading and off I go. Getting more and more birds every year with the easy winters

I would go with the daniel Boone national forest plenty of turkeys and alot of ground to hunt them on.
