First 2017 bird down
« on: April 26, 2017, 10:07:47 AM »
After having surgery booked for opening day of turkey(not by choice lol) I didn't think I would even be hunting  for the first couple weeks but the turkey gods must be favouring me and I came down with a chest cold so they had to postpone surgery. Was a bit of a washout yesterday for opener but today things were much better. Had 2 strutters in field with 6 hens but would come no closer than 100 yds. After couple hours they started moving to other end of field so I got back into woods and snuck around to head them off but when I got there they were gone into far treeline already. Luckily there were some crows that didn't like the idea of them being there and chased them back out into field dive bombing their heads right back into gun range and this nice one paid the price. First time I have been happy to have crows around Lol!!!
20 lbs. 7/8" spurs and 10 1/8" beard. Now to get working on an upgrade!!
