Problem purring using a mouth call.....maybe use a small frame ?

Hey I am just referencing myself...

All I know is that the white tape on the woodhaven calls is very stiff and makes it more difficult to purr on. 

The black tape is more flexible and easier to use.

I think the lip purr is the least authentic sounding turkey purr.
Some guys can flutter their tongue very well and get a good sound.
I like the gargle method because I have the most control with it and I can transition right into other calls like soft clucks, yelps, and whines without moving the call around.

Actually for just strictly purring and clucking, I like to do the gargle method with no call at all. It is very easy for me to get a feeding turkey purr by just getting my uvula flapping with a gargle and clucking in the back of my throat.

I have found going "slack jawed" is the most effective for subtle purrs.  Just like Scott Ellis says...just let the call flutter against the roof of your mouth.  You will get more consistency that way.  Takes some practice but you will have the hang of it in no time!

My problem is there is TOO much flutter. I sound like a micro - engine or something...

Is there any call or type that is easier to purr with? Combo cut, split V, thick or thin latex, 2 or 3 reeds, etc.....
