I couldn't hardly stand it, not being able to hunt Wed (opening day) or Thur due to work, but was able to go to my turkey spot this morning.  Not hearing anything at daylight, I walked to the backside of the property and heard this one about 7:10, down in a bottom at the end of a finger off the ridge I was on.  After a few calls, he strutted onto a flat about 300y below me.  He slowly made it up the finger towards me, for the most part staying out of sight, hidden over the crest of the ridge.  Finally hearing him walking thru the leaves and adjusting my gun towards his gobbles, he walked over the hill at 27 yards.   20.5 lb, 1-3/16" spurs, 10-1/2" beard.

Kudos, you're off to a great start. Thanks for sharing.

If I had saved all the money I spent on hunting, I'd spend it on hunting.
