Youth hunt
« on: March 11, 2017, 12:35:30 PM »
Well me and a buddy took 2 youths this morning and both swung and missed 2 really
nice birds. Heard a ton of gobbling at daylight but only 1 off the roost.

Dang it's still a blast even when that happens. Just have to let them know it's part of hunting. If you hunt you will miss. Doesn't make the sting any less but those two birds are there to hunt another day.
Got a few more mornings before the regular season opens up. Y'all will get them if you've got time to hunt.

Did they have a good time minus the seconds after the shot?

Tell the kids that was turkey hunting's version of "Catch and Release." Next time it will be different.

Great job taking them hunting, brother.

Cheers  ;D
