Small pair of pruning clippers. What a great idea. Glad I read that.

I carry your basic turkey hunting items. But, one morning just before sun up. I was digging for a snicker bar leftover from the day before. You never know when hunger will strike. I found a binky and a set of big plastic keys lol. Apparently my daughter figured I needed them.

Gooserbat

Owl hooter
Crow call
Hand full of mouth calls
Couple of pots
Usually 3 strikers
Box call
Chalk
Wing bone
Wet wipes
Two pair of gloves
Two headnets
7 shells
Thermocell and refills
36" tape measure ( if the spurs are under an inch an 1/4" I toss the bird to the yotes and shoot another one.)
NWTF Booth 1623
One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Granted, I hunt in mountain lion country, so I leave the truck with three shells in the gun...  But 7 shells in the vest adds up to 10 shells...  You shoot 10 shells turkey hunting and that is either a really good day, or a really really bad day...
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

Tail Feathers

One or two pot calls.
Three strikers.
Water.
Breakfast bar and mini-PayDays.
Thermacell and refill.
Wet wipes.
Pen and string for filling out and attaching a game tag.
Primos Slick stick for call maintenance
Sometimes a 4X4' sheet of leafy cut camo material.
Sometimes a box call.
Sometimes pruning shears.
The mouth calls are in a pouch around my neck.  And a trumpet will join them there this spring.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Nope four of those goes into the 870.  I am habitual and s very long time ago I started carrying seven shells in my vest.  No reason why.  I just did.  Now I start the season off with seven every year.  I will deplet those to four or five before I restock to seven but it's always been my habit.
