Browning Silver NWTF, 24" barrel
« on: February 06, 2017, 08:27:28 PM »
Just bought this gun, haven't patterned it yet. It's the 3" model. I usually shoot 3" Longbeard #5's out of my Browing Gold. Has anyone ever patterned this gun?
Just wondering how good the pattern is from the Browning factory turkey choke? Doe anyone have a choke/load combe that they reccomend for this gun?
Thanks

The factory choke didn't pattern well for me but that was before Win LBs came about. I have a 675 Pure Gold in the TP that worked well with Nitro H510C and the Federal Lead shells. I also have a Ballistic Specialties 655. I'll make you a deal or trade for Mobil chokes or Inv+20 ga chokes.

I have that gun only the 3 1/2" model it throws a great pattern with the factory choke and the 3" Federal 3rd degrees. Had to use a red dot to get it centered but have no problems laying them flat out to 40 yards.

670 to 680.  Winchester Long Beards it will be bad.  Now if want to step up they do well with the HV13 also.
Tell us just how dead do you want them to be and we will see if we can get that for you.

I have the 3.5" model.  Shoots great patterns with a Primos Jellyhead, Indian Crreek and Jeb's chokes using Hevishot mag blends, longbeard XR and TSS.
