I don't know how I missed this thread when it was posted. Rickey has good taste in calls. It is true that a walnut box is a difficult thing to tune and pull off. The Shoemakers don't mess around and know what a turkey hen sounds like. Very nice an humble guys. I have a pretty decent assortment of various box calls and the only one I have from them is one of the best. It would be very fair to say that Al and Josh don't get enough credit even though they are highly decorated with awards and prestige. My simple little butternut/kwila field grade sounds better than some calls I have paid triple for. These calls posted are making me hungry......awesome.
