Would like some opinions on the "best" slate pots and makers out there.

In my opinion, I make a really good slate call. Check out this thread with sound file.

I'm not a huge fan of slate calls but my Blackstone slate in walnut is one of the best slates i've played.

My favorite slate that I ran last spring was a Kimmy Hanks.

I agree on the names listed so far. I would like to add Bill Lyman, Daybreak, and Tim Oldham. All three make awesome slate calls.

Mark Cornelius. My two favorites of his are a cherry pot with glass soundboard and walnut with aluminum soundboard.
Two of my other all-time favorites are the Cody Spec 1 and Parks Gobbler slate.
