Anybody ran one of the new cabelas trumpets? If so, what's your thoughts? Thanks

I have not so take my advice with a grain of salt, save the $50 and put it away. Add to it when you can and when you get 125-150 start talking to custom makers. I suggest Natural Addiction, KP Calls, or Billy Buice.

A quality trumpet makes a world of difference in learning and calling.

You are in good hands with both.

I bought one of these trumpets just to have as a comparison.  The call is very small, about the same size as a Permar 1917.  They are fairly high pitched and not quite as user friendly as a custom made call.  The Cabela's website describes it as having an adjustable mouthpiece.  The mouthpiece is actually glued in and not adjustable.  The lipstop however is adjustable just like any other trumpet.  I think this is an example of just how little is known about trumpets even with their growing popularity.  For $50 it's not a bad value.  I would personally spend more on a custom made call but I'm biased of course.
