Finally took a bird with the Weatherby
April 14, 2016, 06:06:02 PM
Been a tough season just could get on a bird. I had purchased a Weatherby SA 459 20 gauge to give the 20 a try. It was worth the wait. It absolutely hammered this gobbler!! Shooting the Hevi 13 through a Sumtoy choke. He didn't even flop. Shot him at 35 steps. 11 inch beard and 1 inch razor sharp Spurs.
The 20 is a joy to carry and the recoil is so much better than my 12.

Congrats on the bird! Good looking gun.
The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

Nice! Tom thinks your gun sucks!
3 have thought mine does too! It is such an easy pointing little gun. I love carrying my pop gun. Especially when I meet up with others on public. 100% have asked what I am carrying.

That gun does look good next to a dead bird.
