I'd shoot both and see what patterns best in your gun. Probably the 1 1/4 oz load, but you never know. :z-twocents:

Call 'em close, It's the most fun you'll ever have doing the right thing.

Here's what a Winch Super Sporting pattern looks like at 30 yds. That load is only 1&1/8" oz, but uses good quality hard shot and goes 1300 fps. (1187/ IC .665 BDS)  A 1&1/4 oz load might or might not pattern better; largely depends on the quality of the shot.

Last spring I tested the same shells as those, and I was pushin 150 in 10" at 30yds, there's not a turkey living that could walk away from that. I was using my bosses Rem hevishot choke, I think it's .687?

Yeah, that shell and choke is pure death to 35 yds. My Rem HS choke is .675.

My bad it was the Rem extra full choke.

I've patterned allot of lead loads out of my Rem 870 21" Kicks .655. Several 2 3/4" 1 1/4oz heavy game loads in 6's and 7.5's. Would not hesitate to hunt with them where shots are 30yds or less. The 3" turkey loads just give me more confidence in the 30-40yd range. Winchester 3/2/6's will turn 140's-160's in a 10" @ 40yds out of a couple of my setups. Those are the patterns I like to hunt with the most. Room for error and business out to 40yds.
