Just curious if anyone on here hunts the northern counties of West Virginia like Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, and Marshall? If so how are the turkey populations? I'm in Ohio and thinking of getting my WV tags.

Brooke county here. Depends on where you go. In my opinion the turkey hunting has went downhill big time. Factors influencing this is. Landowners timber practices for money, huge oil and gas boom, predators (racoons), and poor hatches due to rain. There are some good pockets of birds in places but overall definitely not as good as it was.

Marshall Co. Here. Bird numbers are definitely going down. I hunt private land and have a decent number for now.

My dad and uncle hunt Ohio Co., and there are enough birds that many days I wish I was with them!!
