Every time that I would get a new issue of Turkey and Turkey Hunting I would go straight to the Bad Birds column and read it first thing. Really miss that magazine also.

I got out of reading books some years ago but wouldn't mind having something like this to read in the evenings. Looks like I'd pay over $20 including shipping online, is it worth checking some local book stores and see if they have a copy?

You can but good luck. I tried to find it before I bought it online and none of the book stores in my area had any.

I have Jim's book also..great read. I found it interesting we had hunted some of the same public lands he mentioned in his book, using much of the same methods..I had chased some of those same bad birds ...lol

Larry Dablemount has a good book titled " The World's Greatest Gobblers"..another good read..in fact, I think Jim Spencer has a couple stories in Larry's book also.

Jim Spencer's Turkey Hunting Digest is also a great book alot of instruction and hunting stories  I highly recommend it to new TH . I reread it every year before the season.Jim spends several months every season hunting Turkeys across the  country and has a wealth of experience and has a writing style I like. I'd put him in the same class as Mr. Kelly. His Bad birds book are the stories from T&TH magazine in book form great read as well.I'm hoping Jim writes another Turkey book soon.

I do the same with "Turkey Hunting Digest." "Bad Birds" is a great read too, as is anything by Jim. Having shared a few bad bird chases with Jim, I can tell you he's exactly the man you expect while reading his stuff. Great guy, and his wife, Jill, ain't bad in the woods herself.
