Gooserbat

Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.

I'm a big gooserbat fan. Bacon is my favorite but the hillbilly has been getting these WV birds fired up this week and is close to being my new favorite.

Cane Creek Dead end and Gooserbat bacon are my current go to diaphragms.

I've been usin mouth calls for over 35yrs, Houndstooth makes the best mouth calls I've used, call Lyle, he's a gobbler killer, he'll make you something great! My favorite calls are Dixie Combo, All Pro 3 and the new Vixen.

I realize that this goes against the flow of replacing new mouth calls at least annually (I've got a buddy who uses a new mouth call weekly!), but for the past 8 years I've used the same mouth calls, usually taking three gobblers annually in Illinois but only two this year. I store them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator all year until needed, then soak them in a solution of about one-half mouth wash and one-half water, separating the reeds with a toothpick after 10-15 minutes. I've got 4-5 that I rotate and can't remember their manufacturer, but the gobblers still respond.  At some point, I'll need to replace some of them, so I appreciate the reviews that I read on the various options.

I done the same I have some mouth calls I still use that are over 4 yr. Old. I just wash them off in warm water and use a small paper clip to seperate the reeds... place them in a plastic cup with lid and store them in the frig.
