Thanks for the tip on the furniture sliders. I put three short pieces on a 20+ year old 500 that had a just enough play for the slide tube to knock against the mag tube. Tightened it right up. I hunted that gun for fifteen seasons before it loosened up enough to make a noise.

I did, however, look at a 500 and a 535 this evening at Bass Pro. Those slides were looser than my old 500. You'd have to put sliders on them out of the box. Kind of ridiculous for a turkey model.
