Permanent marker on a shotgun.

Would/could a permanent marker cause damage to a shotgun? I want some turkey tracks on my barrel but do not have the hunting funds available at the moment. I was thinking about just drawing some on myself.

If you have a blued barrel it will come off with denatured alcohol, but if you have a matte finish it may not come of. Best to try it on a place under the barrel first, so if it don't come off it won't show.

I want to personalize my shotgun, so I am not too worried about it coming off. I just don't want to mess my shotgun up.

That is a great idea!

It is my first shotgun, so I doubt I will ever sell it. Hopefully I can pass it down to my daughter one day.

Buy some decals. Guys here sell custom lettering and I have seen tracks.
