just wondering what everyone does to take care of their mouth calls,i have to buy new ones every year because the reeds are stuck together,or is this to be expected? I have bought some more expensive calls last week and I want to try and make them last so I can buy other stuff.

I rinse em in nonalcoholic mouthwash and warm water....let them dry and put them away.  When you get them back out they will probably be stuck a little.  just run them under some more warm water then run the call till it breaks free.

Rinse with hot water, make sure the reeds are not stuck together, and throw them in the freezer.

That's the problem once they get stuck they are pretty much garbage. I'm going to start doing that with my calls for sure. Then you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I leave mine in a dip can with a sponge and some scope. Throw them in the fridge when not using. I get two or three seasons out of a call. Good enough for me.

I have always just broke the tines off of a plastic fork and use them for reed separators.

This and was with water and allow to dry before storage.  Also storr in a cool, dry and dark place.

Half water half non Alcohol non dye mouth wash  in a sealed container, leave them in that in the fridge all off season. In the field a dip can with a sponge soaked in the mouth wash.

They last several years in perfect condition. I've got a few that are 4 or 5 years old and sound better than when I got them.
