These last 2 weeks have almost killed me, thanks to working both jobs and going to school. The only thing that has gotten me by has been the fact that turkey season opens this Saturday
I'm headed to my lease Friday afternoon and will hopefully be able to put a bird to bed for the following morning. I'm hunting through Monday morning then heading back for school that afternoon. The weather looks great, 85 for the highs, around 55 for the lows all 3 days, with a 40% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday, so hopefully the birds will be in the mood to cooperate.
I won't be back out until the following Sunday I'm sure, but I've got hope for that day as well. A friend texted me today saying he saw a gobbler by himself in one of his pastures and 3 other longbeards grouped up in another pasture. I've been telling him I'd go call for him and that he could use my gun even, but today he said the magic words, "lets try for a double"
so I've got a chance at a gobbler here around home for a change
