Sbe II work?

Thinking of sendin off my sbe2 to rob roberts  to get porting and forcing cone done has anyone else had this done to their sbe2? Is it worth it? Also anyone polished a benelli barrel? Is that something that needs to be done? Does roberts do this as well?

Rob does do this work. I'm interested in what ya get done and your results. I have a SBEII also.

Rob Roberts did the forcing cone, trigger job, polished action, and ported the barrel on by SBE II. I was very happy with his work. Very good reason that he builds the performance series guns for Benelli!

I had him do the forcing cone and ported my SBE2 and will get him to do my trigger work this year. Movers happy with it, his crew are top notch

Rob does excellent work. Lengthening the forcing cone can be beneficial and can help to even out a pattern. I've had barrels ported and can see no advantage to patterns or to reducing recoil/muzzle jump. Benelli barrels are chrome-lined, all that's necessary or helpful is a good "deep cleaning" and I do recommend that.

I have just one recommendation. Prior to having any work done, deep clean the bore and see how that affects your patterns. For many shooters over the years, it has been all that's needed to really improve the patterns those guns shoot. Benelli makes such a reliable gun that many hunters and shooters never thoroughly clean the bores. The chrome-lined barrel can look clean, even when it's quite dirty. A dirty Benelli barrel won't pattern as well as a clean one in most situations.

You can give it a try, it takes very little money, just a little time and perhaps save yourself a good bit of money.

I hand polish my SBE 2 every couple of years.  Nothing aggressive just use JB Cleaning Compund and JB Bore Bright.  Really shines it up good.  I'll run up and down the barrrel 30-40 times with each by hand (no drills).  I also polish the inside of my .670 Rhino choke as well.  It came polished when I bought it new. My SBE 2 has only had a trigger job and that's it.

I wouldn't hesitate to have the forcing cone done, it definitely cleans up flyers and cuts down on muzzle climb. The porting is a different story.

Yes, a taped 40 yards.  Didn't trust my old range finder.  My gun likes a dirty barrel.
