I got to be honest I use a ff2 and im not sure it doesn't have a bad glare that can spook turks hold it in direct sun and it will light up green I think all manufactures need to look into this

Late yesterday afternoon I got about 30 yards away from my black lab dog and looked at her through the scope. I asked her if the glare spooked her and she said no. There you have it!

I used to really poo-poo the idea that the lens reflection could spook game, but now I'm not so sure. It is entirely possible under certain circumstances that the reflection, probably coupled with movement, could indeed  spook a bird. I don't think it is as a common occurrence as other factors, but I now believe it could happen on occasion. Turkeys can and will spook for any number of reasons, so why not a lens reflection? My theory is if he's close enough to see a reflection I should be shooting, but turkeys have very keen eyesight, and if you put the gun up too soon and start weaving around waiting for him to come into range he could see it. But it's not going to keep me from using red dots on my gun, the advantages far outweigh any disadvantages for me.

I noticed the Nikon scope for turkeys comes with an anti reflective device, so apparently traditional scopes glare also. If it gets to be a problem next spring I guess I will shell out $25 for the screw on anti reflector.

The nikon Monarch 1x4x20 is what I use.  The front lens is set back into the front of the scope housing 1 1/2 inch.  Therefore it will not have a glare.  Also when I first got my Fastfire 3 red dot I turned it on and got in front of it, not any red glare at all, I trust it not to spook a turkey.

I've used one on my main rig for several years and I haven't needed the ARD. Several friends of mine use this same scope and have never needed and only one that I know of uses it. It definitely wouldn't hurt to use it but I just don't care for it. It doesn't let as much light in and decreases the clarity more than I care for. I also used the older Monarch Turkey Pro 1-4x for many years and never had any problems with the lens spooking birds.
