After tagging out in California, I took my bow to Oregon to try for a Rio up there. Rained all the way up, into the evening and the morning of the hunt. Things cleared up at fly down time and after an hour this soggy, wet tom with the soaked tailfan strutted up to the DSD Strutter. At ten yards, I drew and let the Magnus Bullhead fly. I almost got a full decap. No video this time unfortunately.

17.6lbs, 9.25" beard, 7/8" spurs.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!

That's awesome. Congrats!

(wet turkeys are just ugly)
(heads hanging on by a thread are ugly too)
Someday when I really learn to hunt turkeys, I want to get one with my bow.
I am so jealous!
Good job.   :icon_thumright:

Genesis 27:3 - Now then, get your weapons—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Marc

Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.
