I've never been able to decide if I like slate or glass better! My favorite pie is strawberry-rhubarb, but I love pecan pie, too!
I carry both and a handful of strikers and have good luck.

aluminum,for one reason, I never have to change calls, during favorable weather it sounds pretty good, when the weather goes bad it sounds even better because it's one of the few that weather doesn't stop...it can get really loud or you can really be quite with it. Depends on how you choose to implement it...Plus if you know how to work it you can re-produce some VERY realistic sounds.

if I were to only pick one to carry with me it would be glass or aluminum. but I am a friction call guru so I have about all of them. but I really like the sound of the glass.
