April Fools Bird
April 01, 2014, 07:00:04 PM
I got the chance to call one in for my partner today and worked him for over an hour with four other gobblers spread all around. He finally made the fatal move to come down the old logging road and was dropped at 15 steps while I was watching a full fan through the planted pines.
Only 16lbs 10 ozs, 91/2 inch beard and one inch spurs but those spurs were as sharp as a bantam roosters.
He answered the HS Strut Raspy Old Hen and a Primos Power Crystal today. All that money on custom calls( not used today) and super shells - but hey, it's all about calling 'em close and watching the show for me.
Yeah it was a Fed HW #7 that busted both beaks and no shot below the carnucles (sp) and literally pushed the bird back 10 feet or more. Gonna be a good year cause I am slated for the next one.

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Great Job!

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
