i bought this scatter gun a while back and put a millet red dot on it and got it sighted in with light loads and screwed in a jellyhead maximum 660 and bought some long beard #6's and it just dont seem to suit me. so i was wondering what other type of choke that does good out of these guns? what is considered the magic number of pellets in a 10" circle to be considered great.

The most popular turkey choke for that gun here has been the SSX.  We've had a hard time keeping them in stock.

Thanks,
Clark

I don't shoot a mossberg 500, but I shoot .665 with #5 shot.  .660 should be a good choke for #6's especially with Longbeards, The 500 mossberg might like a little more open choke.  haven't heard of many people getting bad patterns with longbeards.  Maybe some mossberg hunters will chime in.  I don't count holes but I have read here that the minimum number of shot is 100 shot in a 10 inch circle at the maximum range you want to shoot.  I have read a couple of posts that people said the Jellyhead choke did not do well with their guns.  Good Luck

okay i  dont have a 500 but i do have a 535 the longbeards didnt do what i wanted either 120 at 40 was my best i found that through a .660 jh the old double x 3.5 #5s did well 166-205 in 10'' at 40

I will definitely look into getting a box of those before I go buy another choke but the one guys says that alot of ppl get good patterns outta the ssx but isnt it like a .643 constriction? That just seems really tight to me and was wondering how everyone elses experience is with them.
