I like the tom teaser rip series a lot! Also MAD calls are great and I've heard great things about gooserbat, got one one the way as we speak.

Like others have said, practice is key. Also, piking the reeds after every use helps me with consistency. Otherwise the reeds tend to get stuck. You have a call that's raspy as hell one day and the next day sounds like a different call altogether if not cared for properly.
