Waterproofing Snake / Turkey Boots - Recommendations

Hey everybody: I'm new to the forum here & have a quick question related to waterproofing snake boots that have lost their waterproofing.

Last season, I stumbled across a "survivalist" YouTube video where the guy showed applying Sno-Seal to the seams & the other parts of the boot to waterproof them again...  So, I went & got me a can of Sno-Seal & went to town on both pair of high-dollar snake boots I've bought that lost their waterproofing (ugh!)...

Well, my boots smell GREAT now (I now smell like a honey bee running thru the woods , but ...  It didn't work; they still leak! 

Have I essentially messed up these boots, or ... do any of you have recommendations (beyond the point I'm at) on waterproofing my boots?  I really don't want to shell out another $200+ on a pair of snake boots when the ones I've got "protect" me against snakes - but leak...  I also don't want wet feet as I run through creeks, streams & wet pastures (first thing in the morning)...

I did my boots and rain jacket last year. First time doing it and I was thrilled with the results. For the boots snow seal is okay if they're not gore tex. If gore tex then you probably killed the breathability on them.

I used Nikwax products orfdered off Amazon. Look up their website and it suggests  which product you should use. I used Waterproofing brown wax on my gore tex boots. I used the Nikwax wash then Direct spray on for my jacket. I can say it worked for me.

For years, on multiple types and brands of boots, I've had good luck using Mink oil or a similar waterproofing on any leather portions, and plain old spray silicone waterproofing like you can buy in the camping department at Walmart on the Cordura (nylon) portions of the boots.

Excellent!  Keep the ideas coming; sounds like I can accomplish what I'm wanting, with a little "effort" - which is fine by me!

Tail Feathers: Wow, ya - here's a video showing the application - http://youtu.be/Ord6dTARWfo ...  I've got an air compressor, but don't have the spray nosel they show here.  I guess this is some really powerful stuff if you have to wear all that to apply it!

Yeh, I didn't see the application video until after I posted the link.
It looks easy if you have the stuff.  I have an HVLP sprayer I could use...hmmm....

Those leaking Gore-Tex boots..its not the material thats leaking, its the seams. No amount of reviving products will help that. Might as well treat them as any other boot if you want them to be waterproof, or invest in a pair of Seal skinz socks.

Gamblinman: Yep, that's why I spent all that time last year "sealing" the seams with the Sno-Seal stuff; thought I'd done it, but ...  Oh well!  Honestly, I don't hunt a lot of places where I can't get around water; but, there are times when I'd really like to have the waterproofing...  The dew is really heavy here in the mornings, and just walking across pastures caused the boots to leak...
