If I got a pattern like that at 35 with lead, I probably wouldn't even buy any htl shells.

those Nitros are definitely not the top end patterning shell so to get a solid kill pattern out of them means your gun likes them.  You could hunt with that and be confident.  You will likely see a major improvement when you go to Hevi loads as you said was your intention.  I've had great luck with #6 and #7 both are birdcrushers.  Good luck, happy hunting!

Don't miss "The Break" our new outdoor TV show featuring the www.HuntersLink.com team on the Hunt Channel Ch.266 on Dish Network.  All episodes can be seen on Hunt Channel on ROKU and streaming devices and on the website as well...Enjoy and thanks for the support!

My plan was to go with Hevi 13, but my local Bass Pro won't stock them.  They have the magnum blends so I'm probably going to give them a try.  I have some bass pro gift cards to use up and along with the rebate I can get a couple boxes for free.

Don't worry about the HTLs, call him up and use those. Gooder-n-snuff.

Um, at 35 yards, with basically one of the cheapest turkey loads you can buy....  not sure it's worth spending the money of hevi unless you're planning on specfically shooting them in the eye..... :funnyturkey:

Ah, I don't see a problem!   8)

IMHO, people get so caught up in making a small pattern at 40+ yards, they don't realize it is too small at 20 yards.  I've actually tried to open mine up a little cause I can usually call 'em in so cllose I don't really need all that range!!   :TooFunny:

My thoughts as well. Save that money towards gas and go kill a bird with those Rem. Nitros. Good luck.

That's one of the better patterns I've seen with those shells

Not bad for sure!

All my guns shoot very well at 35 yards, but few can hold a decent pattern past that without a good choke & H-13....

REGARDLESS of what shell you try,DITCH the turkey head targets and shoot at a target at LEAST 3'x3'....that will tell you all you need to know about your POA compared to your POI....not to mention the density of your pattern. I personally only use the bigger targets at 30yds. and beyond. Anyhow, hope it helped, and good luck!!!
