If HTL shells were truly way overpriced you would be able to buy the components and load your own for much less. Go ahead, ask some of the hand loaders how much money they are saving... Frankly, it's surprising the shells don't cost more when you realize these are companies that need to make a profit.
I don't disagree that HTL is probably overkill when keeping shots inside 40 and using a 12ga. But that was true before these shells, and people chose to shoot HTL anyway. If they bring this load to the 20ga, then things might get interesting.
Another vote for 20 gauge shells.
There is mention in one of the numerous articles about this newcomer that mention the possibility of coming out in 2 3/4" 12 gauge and 20 gauge IF sales are brisk and demand seems high. IF they do go with the 20 gauge I certainly hope that they got to #5 and #6 choices for 20 gauge especially.
