Perfect story to enjoy my morning coffee too...I used to live in Memphis and identified with the Peabody and Texas de Brazil! Great hunt! We have a legendary tom we've named Paintbrush I've been huntin 3 years...he's a Rio, lives several hours from me so I only get to hunt there about once a year...makes the challenge even greater.

Fantastic story to start my day! Thanks for sharing! There is certainly something to be said about the lessons that can be learned in the woods, both spiritual lessons to better the soul and practical lessons to carry through life. And, it doesn't seem to matter how old or young you are, there is always something to be learned.

Great Story. I was on the edge of my seat as I have a 3 year grudge going with an old tom that I'm not quite ready to let go of yet. Man, I hope he makes it through until next spring....

Way to go, Tom. You are a wordsmith that has no equal..Nicely done..Again!!
FYI... Turkey or no turkey...I would still "Pop" Mitchell the next time I saw him!!
